Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) will organize Into the Lens: Film Making Workshop which is also one of the programs under the PYDC’s Art and Culture category initiative as well as Youth for the Future, launched by the Penang State EXCO of Youth and Sports.
The Malaysian film industry is a relatively small industry that caters to the need of a population of only about 27.5 million. In the context of globalization, this small local market presents a challenge for the government in promoting the industry as part of creative industry with great economic potential.
It has been seen that this industry is growing rapidly with the birth of several productions that publish short films and content on social media. to encourage youth to continue to progress in the film industry commercially, PYDC took the initiative to organize this film production workshop that focuses on storytelling by speakers who are experienced in short film and documentary production.
